"I feel I have no control over my life"

Sue:  Nothing I do turns out the way I want it to -- jobs, relationships.  I feel I have no control over my life.

Jane: Feeling out of control only feels like a problem when we believe ourselves to be at the mercy of other people, the world, or what we conceive of as the inhospitable nature of life/reality.  But there is something larger and more encompassing than you that is happening beyond your immediate perspective.  It is working in co-creation with what is truly important to you.

This larger essence is underneath our day-to-day experience, and is the underlying infrastructure of all experience.  It is made up of Truth, Love, Intelligence, Principle, Consciousness and Life.  It is what you find if you explore any experience to the very bottom of it, beyond the distorted perceptions that camouflage truth.  And it is accessed by coming into the present moment.  It is the overall medium that encompasses all that is real in life, and is where solutions to any difficulty can be accessed.  It is what opens up the way forward.

If you open yourself to this deeper reality and look for answers and stability from that perspective, you are working in co-creation with it, and will no longer feel at the mercy of life and other people.  But if you try to run your life by your personal control alone, or by seeing other people and external events as the source of your well-being, this limited human perspective eventually leads to loss and instability, because it is out of sync with the essence of life.
